Toyota Material Handling

Software Test Engineer

Are you curious about working close to the product where software and hardware meet? Come join us as a Software Test Engineer at Toyota Material Handling Europe. With us, you have a unique opportunity to shape and drive how Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) becomes an integral part of our development process. We are entering a period of rapid growth in this area, where HIL, SIL and advanced test automation will play an increasingly central role in how we ensure quality.

Here, you won’t just work with modern testing methods – you’ll be a key
contributor in building them, influencing technical decisions, and seeing the impact of
your work directly in the physical product.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the development of software tests on HIL, SIL and bench, covering both new software features and enhancements of existing functionality.
  • Design, implement and maintain automatic test cases, based on requirements and functional descriptions.
  • Create scripts and schedule automated test runs, such as nightly builds, long duration tests and release verification.
  • Analyse test results, perform root cause analysis, and report the findings in a clear and structured way.
  • Contribute to test strategy, planning, and continuous improvements, including test methodologies and the test environment- strengthening overall testability, product quality, and release confidence.
  • Act as a lead/coach within software testing, enabling development teams to build competence in HIL/SIL/bench testing, test design, automation practices, and testability.

We are looking for someone who has/are:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
  • Several years of experience within software test, preferably within embedded systems.
  • Experience from building or contributing to test frameworks is considered a strong merit.
  • Proven ability to lead and coach others in testing.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English. Proficiency in Swedish is a plus.

You are a collaborative team player who enjoys taking responsibility and contributing to shared goals. With a proactive and curious mindset, you like to stay ahead of challenges by communicating openly and working together. You appreciate a supportive environment and enjoy sharing knowledge, encouraging others, and helping the team grow.
